PROMULGATING VIETNAM STANDARD INDUSTRIAL CLASSIFICATION

 

Pursuant to the Law on Government Organization dated June 19, 2015;

Pursuant to the Law on Statistics dated November 23, 2015;

At the request of the Minister of Planning and Investment;

The Prime Minister hereby promulgates a Decision on Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification.

 

Article 1. Scope

This Decision elaborates the Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification that includes broad structure (provided in the Appendix I hereof) and detailed structure (provided in the Appendix II hereof) uniformly used for state statistical activities.

Article 2. Regulated entities

This Decision applies to the organizations and individuals prescribed by the Law on Statistics 2015.

Article 3. The Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification consists of broad structure and detailed structure

The broad structure and detailed structure of the Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification are promulgated together with this Decision.

1. The Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification includes 5 levels:

 Level 1 includes 21 sections hierarchically designated by alphabetical letters from A to U;

 Level 2 includes 88 divisions, each of which is assigned a two-digit code according to the corresponding section;

 Level 3 includes 242 groups, each of which is assigned a three-digit code according to the corresponding division;

 Level 4 includes 486 classes, each of which is assigned a four-digit code according to the corresponding group;

 Level 5 includes 734 sub-classes, each of which is assigned a five-digit code according to the corresponding class;

 The Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification delineates economic activities having functions arranged into specific sections as follows:

 Inclusive: Economic activities that are defined to belong to an industry sector;

 Exclusive: Economic activities that are not included in an industry sector but belong to other industry sectors.

Article 4. Effect

This Decision comes into force from August 20, 2018.

The Decision No. 10/2007/QD-TTg dated January 23, 2007 of the Prime Minister on promulgation of Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification is null and void from the effective date of this Decision.

Article 5. Implementation

Ministers, heads of ministerial agencies, heads of Governmental agencies and Presidents of People’s Committees of provinces and central-affiliated cities are responsible for the implementation of this Decision./.
